In Armenia, 52% of men and 68% of women pursue higher education. Despite this, women are underrepresented in the labor market, with over 50% of working-age women in the country unemployed.
Even so, Armenia has long outperformed many advanced countries in terms of women’s involvement in IT sector. While the global average stands at 20%, the rate in Armenia exceeds 35%.
This trend can be attributed to access to educational opportunities, flexible working conditions, and other favorable factors.
As part of Women&’s Month, the ”Internet Society” NGO will showcase a series of stories about women who have played a pivotal role in IT sector.
