The program Digital Management of Libraries is a precedent. Senior Manager of ISF Programs

The effective projects initiated by the “Internet Society Armenia Chapter” brought to Armenia the Senior Program Manager of the Internet Society Foundation (ISF) Jenn Beard and Associate Program Officer Rigdzin Collins.

Following their discussion with the chapter’s members, the team, led by Igor Mkrtumyan, the organization’s president, headed to the Lori region. They learned about the ISOC Armenia Chapter’s programs of digital management of libraries and community Internet center initiatives in the three libraries located in Vanadzor and Spitak.

“The digital library management program was developed by our technical professionals following a needs assessment. Through this program, we are attempting to address the issues of not only modernizing the way libraries are organized, but also enabling the region to have access to the Internet and its vast array of educational resources,” stated Narine Derdzakyan, vice-chair of the chapter’s board.
