The development and 30-year history of Armenia’s national .am domain were showcased during the Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association conference (APTLD86), held from September 17 to 20 in Danang, Vietnam.
Armenia was represented at the conference by Narine Derdzakyan and Vesmira Harutyunyan, board members of the “Internet Society” NGO.
In her speech, the latter highlighted the history of the .am domain, stating, “Our organization’s mission is to ensure the continuous development of the .am domain while staying aligned with global advancements.” Vesmira Harutyunyan provided an overview of the various initiatives undertaken by the “Internet Society” NGO to support the domain’s growth and overall progress.
At APTLD86, participants discussed key issues related to Internet stability, security, international standards, data storage, copyright, and the creation of innovative, collaborative approaches informed by the experiences of the ccTLD community.
Held twice a year, APTLD conferences serve as international platforms where registry organizations share experiences, present innovations, and explore practical methods for their implementation.
