Exploring New Methods of Cooperation with Armix

Recently, representatives of the Internet Society NGO and the Armix Foundation discussed new ways to collaborate on expanding internet access, technological development, and technical re-equipment.

While presenting the results and programs of the Internet Traffic Exchange Center "Armix," the president of the foundation Albert Toneyan emphasized the importance of technical re-equipment and expanding the service area. He noted that the structure, as the only traffic exchange center in the republic, operates in Yerevan and there is increasing interest from the regions.

According to Toneyan, expanding the center will significantly enhance not only the quality of services and communication provided by operators outside the capital but also ensure a more stable level of digital security, particularly during crisis situations. Experts consider
this a matter of strategic importance for the country, and believe it is time to begin a dialogue with the responsible state structures to address the issue.

“Cooperation can play a significant role in expanding Armix activities, which will undoubtedly contribute to the development of Armenia”s technological capabilities and enhance security. We are situated in a region where it is both necessary and prudent to consider establishing an independent and self-sufficient traffic exchange system. The growth of Armix can help achieve this," said Igor Mkrtumyan, Board Chair of the Internet Society NGO.
