On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of bringing the internet to Armenia and the registration and development of .am, Internet Society NGO has launched an unprecedented initiative. To mark this anniversary year, the organization has published a special bilingual publication, titled “Our Space on Internet: .am 30” which summarizes the history of the past 30 years and includes English abbreviations.
People who were at the origins of bringing the Internet to Armenia and managing .am have presented the NGO’s activities in the magazine as comprehensively as possible, from the days of the organization’s founding to the current stage of Internet development.
“Our Space on Internet: .am 30” highlights fascinating details about the creation and development of the national domain, illustrating how domain management became a tool for both advancing the internet and shaping Armenia’s digital identity. It also demonstrates how this effort significantly contributed to positioning our country on the global digital map.
The magazine outlines the key events, ideas, challenges, and successes that have shaped the organization’s journey in relation to global technological processes. It was introduced to the Armenian internet community during a presentation at the anniversary ceremony. The publication serves as essential material for anyone interested in Armenia’s digital past, present, and future.
