Issues related to domain management, maintenance, and security were discussed at this year’s Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association (APTLD) conference.
APTLD87 was held in Hong Kong, China, from February 10 to 13. Armenia was represented by a delegation from the Internet Society NGO.
The conference covered the following topics:
- Best practices, trends, and perspectives in DNS and DNSSEC management
- Simplified tools for building a secure DNS ecosystem and KINDNS guidance
- Enhancing security management for ccTLDs and partner organizations through the
implementation of the ISO 27001 standard, among others
“These conferences provide a valuable opportunity to share experiences and learn about international and regional advancements in technology, administration, legislation, and security,” said Vesmira Harutyunyan, a delegation member and Board member of the Internet Society NGO. At the conference, she presented the management principles of the Armenian domains .am and .հայ, which the professional team has developed and refined over the past 30 years. She also highlighted the ongoing efforts to advance the sector and enhance security in Armenia.
Founded in 1998, APTLD aims to support the sustainable development of ccTLDs, foster regional cooperation, enhance the capabilities of the professional community, and protect the interests of its members.
The organization’s 2025-2027 strategic plan focuses on promoting joint projects, actively participating in international forums, developing model procedures and policies for domain registration and data privacy, strengthening domain name security and cybersecurity, and sharing best practices.
