Internet Society NGO joins global coalition supporting multi-stakeholder Internet Governance

Internet Society NGO which manages .am and .հայ country code top-level domains of Armenia, has joined the Technical Community Coalition for Multistakeholderism (TCCM).

Established in 2024, TCCM was formed to contribute to the development of the Global Digital Compact (GDC) and to support the upcoming review of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS+20).

The coalition was founded by auDA (Australia), CIRA (Canada), Nominet (United Kingdom), and InternetNZ (New Zealand).

Its primary goal is to ensure the continued involvement of the technical community in key decision-making processes related to Internet governance.

To date, more than 40 organizations have joined the coalition, all advocating for a multi-stakeholder model of Internet governance. This model not only fosters global communication through a unified and accessible Internet but also helps expand access to modern services and educational resources worldwide.

In Armenia the “Internet Governance Forum” (IGF) interdepartmental group has been operating for 11 years, established by a decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia. Internet Society NGO is an active member of the group and also serves as its secretariat.

The IGF brings together representatives from the government, civil society, academia, media, and the private sector. This inclusive structure enables timely and effective responses to emerging challenges in Internet governance, contributing to the stability and development of Armenia’s Internet ecosystem.
