Domain and Internet: Armenian Wikipedia Expanded with Over 300 New Articles

The “World After the Dot” wiki-project, initiated by the Wikimedia Armenia and Internet Society NGOs and held from November 1-30, has concluded with the addition or improvement of 302 Armenian Wikipedia articles focused on domains and internet infrastructure.

Throughout the edit-a-thon, participants created 197 new articles and enhanced 105 existing ones.

The results of the month-long initiative will be announced on January 15, 2026 – Wikipedia’s birthday – when the best contributors will be recognized with awards.

Awards:

  • 1st place: 30,000 AMD and a certificate
  • 2nd place: 20,000 AMD and a certificate
  • 3rd place: 10,000 AMD and a certificate

In addition, five active participants will receive encouragement certificates based on the quality and quantity of the articles they created or improved.

“This collaboration with Wikimedia Armenia is another important step toward the free circulation of knowledge in the Armenian-language digital space. Access to information about domains and internet governance is a key component of digital knowledge dissemination and remains a priority for us,” said Kristina Hakobyan, Board Vice-Chair of the Internet Society NGO.
