The Coordination Center for .ru and .рф domains reflected on the thirtieth anniversary of Armenia’s national domain .am in an interview with Kristina Hakobyan, Vice Chair of the Board of the Internet Society NGO.
During a conversation at the 19th Internet Governance Forum (IGF), the journalist was particularly interested in how the Vice Chair of the Board of the Internet Society NGO evaluates the activities of the “Internet Society” over the past 30 years.
“We are marking the anniversary year 2024 by dedicating all events and initiatives to this significant milestone, especially since we are fortunate to work with those who were involved in bringing the Internet to Armenia and developing the domain name”.
“This was an opportunity for us to document our achievements and positive developments, as well as to outline future initiatives”.
“As the organizer of ArmIGF in Armenia, what specific issues are addressed at your conferences?”
“Yes, every year, by organizing the Armenian IGF with the Internet Society Armenia Chapter PO, we discuss topics related to global issues in the digital world, such as cybersecurity, child safety on the internet, as well as local issues, with the involvement of both local and international experts. We aim to address global digital challenges and contribute to developing solutions for them”.
