At Youth ArmIGF24, young participants were introduced to the latest Internet innovations in the field of education.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the national .am domain and the managing organization “Internet Society” NGO, the “Youth Internet Governance Forum,” Youth ArmIGF2024, was held this year after a long hiatus. Over 80 young participants, primarily university students, attended the conference organized by the “Internet Society” NGO and the “Internet Society Armenia Chapter” PO.

“Organizing education through innovative approaches in the digital realm has always been, and remains, a central focus for us. Since our Organization’s inception, we have regarded the Internet as an invaluable educational resource, now an essential space for young people,” stated Kristina Hakobyan, Board Vice-Chair of the Internet Society NGO, as she welcomed forum participants. “In this context, we consider it crucial to revive the Youth ArmIGF and address these pressing issues in this format.”

At the conference themed “Internet Innovations in Education,” presentations highlighted why and how artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies can be integrated into the teaching process.

CivilNet journalist and fact-checking specialist Hayk Hovhannisyan discussed the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, while Narine Safaryan, head of educational programs at the Media Initiatives Center, presented the possibilities of virtual reality (VR) technologies. Additionally, Arusyak Dadiyan, project manager of ARLOOPA, explored options for incorporating augmented reality (AR) into the educational process.

Participants of Youth ArmIGF2024 engaged in hands-on application and evaluation of new technologies as effective tools for acquiring knowledge more easily and quickly. The event also featured an exchange of ideas and an in-depth discussion.
